The UTEP rifle team was edged by visiting Alaska-Fairbanks, 4664-4576, at the UTEP rifle range in the Miners’ 2017-18 fall finale on Friday.
“Today’s match marked the halfway point of our season,” UTEP head coach Hannah Muegge said. “I am thoroughly impressed with how much this squad has learned since we started back in September. Our match demeanor has never looked better but we know there is still room for improvement. We’ve seen many personal bests throughout this Fall segment. Our focus when the team returns to action in January will be to take those strong individual scores and tie them together as a team effort.”

Sophomore Abby Monique posted an aggregate of 1145. She fired a 568 in smallbore and a 577 in air rifle.
