The UTEP rifle team will face off against Alaska Fairbanks for the 2022 NCAA rifle qualifier match on Saturday (Feb. 19) at the E.F. Horton Rifle Range in the Patty Center.

The match will be streamed through YouTube, with live stats also available.

“We are excited to travel to Alaska for the NCAA Qualifiers,” head coach Austin Litherland said. “The team has been very focused and worked hard in areas that needed improvement this past week. Mentally, the team is in good spirits and feeling confident. We will use this confidence to bring out some good scores.”

About the NCAA Qualifier

The NCAA qualifier will be the final score necessary to determine which eight teams will travel to Colorado Springs, Colo. to compete in the NCAA Championships in March. The first three scores come from regular season matches, and all three must come from separate locations. The fourth score calculated into the average is the qualifier score.
