The UTEP football program will play a future home-and-home series with former Western Athletic Conference foe San Jose State beginning in 2026, it was announced by the two universities on Monday.

The Miners are scheduled to play the Spartans on the road on Sept. 26, 2026 in what will mark the team’s fifth visit to San Jose all-time and first since the 2004 campaign.

San Jose State will make the return trip to El Paso a year later to battle UTEP on Sept. 25, 2027 in the Sun Bowl.

The all-time series between the Miners and Spartans is knotted at 5-5 with UTEP coming out on top, 38-20, in the most recent meeting in San Jose in 2004.
