UTEP: Services, Facilities Ready for Spring Semester

The University of Texas at El Paso will continue to offer many of its on-campus services and resources to students and employees during the spring 2021 semester, even while many students and employees will work and take classes remotely.

The University continues to follow CDC safety recommendations to include social distancing and face-covering requirements while on campus. Each person who comes to campus is required to check in first using the screening application at screening.utep.edu.

Union Building East’s lounge and seating areas are open from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays. The seating is socially distanced. All food venues and the Cyber Café are closed until further notice.

The Student Health and Wellness Center continues to serve students by appointment only from 8 a.m. to noon and 1 to 5 p.m. weekdays. Students should call 915-747-5624 or 915-747-6358 to schedule their visits.

The University Library is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday through Jan. 16, and will expand its hours after classes resume. Starting Jan. 19, the library’s second and third floors will be open to UTEP students and employees from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends. The writing center is open on a limited schedule during the wintermester, but both it and the math resource center will offer their services online when classes resume Jan. 19.

The Student Recreation Center’s operating hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekdays starting Jan. 11. Users may request workout sessions for up to one hour at recreserve@utep.edu.

In addition, the following campus venues — with the exception of the University Bookstore — will observe the business hours listed below.
