UTEP Softball Falls to Marshall in Series Opener Friday Afternoon

The UTEP softball team (14-30, 4-15 Conference USA) fell to Marshall (31-13, 13-6 C-USA) 1-0 in its series opener Friday afternoon at Dot Hicks Field. 

Marshall scored the lone run of the game in the home fifth. Bub Feringa doubled to center field and Lauren Love entered the game as her pinch runner. Love then crossed the dish off a Madison Whitaker sacrifice bunt for the 1-0 lead.

UTEP will continue its three-game series versus Marshall Saturday, April 30, at 11 a.m. MT. The contest will be streamed on ESPN+, with live stats also available.
