UTEP Student-Athletes Secure 33 C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medals

IRVING, Texas – A total of 33 UTEP student-athletes have earned a Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Medal, the league office announced Friday.

Medals are awarded to C-USA student-athletes who maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.75 or better.

The medals announcement comes only one day after the school announced a total of 152 UTEP student-athletes landing a spot on the Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll. Student-athletes named to the list have maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

For the first time since joining the league (2005-06), the Miners have had more than 150 student-athletes earn placement on the list in consecutive years. In 2015-16 UTEP had an institution-record 154 honorees.
