MIDLAND, Texas – The UTEP women’s tennis team concluded the Midland Invitational on Sunday with a singles match in both singles and doubles play.
In singles, Vivienne Kulicke was handed a 4-6, 6-4, 6-3 setback by Texas Tech’s Sabrina Federici in her semifinals match. Kulicke and Milou Pietersz fell, 8-7 (8), to Katelyn Jackson and Lynn Kiro also of Texas Tech in the quarterfinals.
“Overall it was a great tournament,” head coach Roberto Aspillaga said. “Vivienne is becoming a stronger competitor by the day, and Milou’s learning curve has been impressive in both singles and doubles. She is improving quickly and I am very excited for the player she is becoming.”
