UTEP Tennis Concludes Day Four of USTA/ITA Mountain Regionals
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The UTEP tennis team concluded the fourth day of the USTA/ITA Mountain Regionals at the New Mexico campus by moving onto the championship round of doubles action.
Newcomer Milou Pietersz and junior Vivienne Kulicke paired up to face BYU’s freshman Samantha Smith and senior Savannah Ware in the semifinals. The Miners took down the Cougar duo, 8-6, to move onto the final round.
Pietersz and Kulicke’s success marks the first time in program history that a UTEP doubles team makes it to the championship round of the ITA Regional Championships.
The Orange and Blue pair will play the deciding match on Sunday against Air Force’s TJ Fumagali and Jocelle Rudico.
