UTEP Tennis Concludes Second Day Of TCU Invite

FORT WORTH, Texas- The second day of the TCU Spring Invitational wrapped up with the UTEP women’s tennis team garnering five wins on the first day of singles match play, four of which came against Texas State. The Miners will finish the tournament against ULM tomorrow at the Bayard H. Friedman Tennis Center in Fort Worth.

UTEP’s Vivienne Kulicke was the lone Miner to get a win against TCU and Texas State. The junior defeated Horned Frog Alexis Pereira 6-1, 6-1 and the Bobcats’ Eva Dench 6-3, 6-2.

Senior Daphne Visscher took TCU’s, and ITA No. 115 ranked, Marie Norris to three rounds during their bout, but Visscher was ultimately defeated 6-3, 5-7, 6-2. Visscher bounced back with a win against Texas State’s Ana Perez 6-4, 6-3.

Both Raven Bennett and Milou Pietersz ended the day with wins against Texas State. Bennett took care of Joy Chia Ming Ming 6-3, 6-1 while Pietersz defeated Pippa Carr 6-2, 6-3.

The conclusion of the TCU Spring Invitational will begin with the singles match between UTEP and ULM at 9 a.m. (CT).
