UTEP Tennis Falls to Texas Tech 4-0

UTEP tennis (0-2, 0-0) was swept, 4-0, by Texas Tech at the El Paso Tennis Club Sunday afternoon.

On court three during doubles, Eve Daniels and Lyric Bonilla battled with Red Raiders Olivia Peet and Camryn Stepp, 4-4, before the match was called.

 “Today, regardless of the result, was a great learning experience,” UTEP Tennis Head Coach Ivan Fernandez said. “We were able to get the entire team playing time this weekend. We now see what we need to work on over the next few weeks to prepare for our upcoming matches. I know we will continue to improve with every match moving forward.”

In another match that went unfinished, Thássane Abrahim won the second set in the No. 2 slot of her singles match, 5-4.

No. 2: No. 100 Kaitlin Staines (TTU) vs. Thássane Abrahim (UTEP) unf.

No. 4: Nell Miller (TTU) vs. Eve Daniels (UTEP) 6-0, 6-2

Up next for UTEP are matches scheduled for Feb. 19 and 20 against Weber State and UNLV, respectively, in Las Vegas Nevada.
