Tulane is looking to tie its best-ever start (7-0 in 2015) when it meets the Miners in the neutral match. The Green Wave is coming off a home doubleheader sweep against Northwestern State and Southern and features junior Naz Karagoz, who is undefeated with six wins via straight sets.
UTEP will face an Arizona team that also has an undefeated record entering the weekend. The Wildcats took down both NAU and GCU 4-0 and boast the Intercollegiate Tennis Association No. 18-ranked singles player in Lauren Marker, as well as No. 89 Samantha Czarniak.
Sacramento State will round out the weekend play for the Miners. The Hornets fell to UC Davis on Saturday, but bring the two-time, in as many weeks, Big Sky Player of the Week in junior Ana Loaiza Esquivias. Esquivias is the only player in the Big Sky conference to open the season 3-0 and holds a 37-14 collegiate record.
This will be the Miners’ final road trip before their first home match on Feb. 11.
