UTEP Tennis Head Coach Ivan Fernandez announced his program’s upcoming schedule for the 2021 spring season Friday morning. The schedule consists of 12 home matches hosted at the El Paso Tennis Club.
The Miners open with their first regular season match at the El Paso Tennis Club against Western New Mexico on January. 23 at 10 a.m. MT. Two power five opponents come to battle in El Paso the following weekend when the Miners face Arizona and Texas Tech on January 29 and January 31, respectively.
The first road contests of the season come on February 6 and 7 as the Miners travel east on I-10 to square off with Abilene Christian and Oral Roberts. Both matches will take place in Abilene.
Two weeks later, UTEP ventures to the Sin City in Las Vegas, Nev., for a pair of matches with Weber State and UNLV on February 19 and 21, respectively.
The Miners return home to square off with Seward County Community College on February 26 at 12 p.m. MT and then play its first and only Conference USA showdown with UTSA on February 27 at 10 a.m. MT.
Next up, UTEP travels to Albuquerque, to go up against New Mexico on March 4 for its final road contest of the regular season. The Miners close out the month of March with matches against Utah State on March 7 at 10 a.m. MT and Texas Permian Basin on March 20 at 12 p.m. MT.
UTEP closes the regular season with a five-match slate from April 9-15 as follows:
UT Tyler (April 9, 12 p.m. MT)
NAU (April 10, 12 p.m. MT)
NM State (April 11, 12 p.m. MT)
UTRGV (April 13, 12 p.m. MT)
Tarleton State (April 15, 12 p.m. MT)
The Conference USA Championships will be held in Denton, Texas, from April 22-25.
