The UTEP women’s tennis team will be playing in a new location this weekend, as it returns to action to take on Abilene Christian on Saturday at 2 p.m. (MT).
The Miners will be hosting their 2016 home opener at The Coronado Country Club after playing their first seven matches on the road.
The Orange and Blue are 2-4 overall and have yet to compete against a Conference USA opponent this season. UTEP was defeated by Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 6-1 (2/12) last weekend, where Vivienne Kulicke earned the only point for the Miners by defeating Hortense Boscher (6-3, 6-3) at the No. 1 position in singles competition.
This Saturday will be the ninth match between UTEP and ACU (6-4, 0-0 SLC). The last meeting between the two universities was on February 22, 2014 at The El Paso Tennis Club, where the Wildcats took home a 5-2 victory. ACU leads the series 6-2.
