The UTEP tennis team will conclude the fall portion of its schedule when it takes part in the North Texas Mean Green Invitational Friday through Sunday (Nov.5-7). It will be a unique style format, with the tournament mimicking a dual match each day of action.
The Miners will square off against host North Texas at 3 p.m. MT Friday (Nov. 5), challenge UTA at 10 a.m. MT Saturday (Nov. 6) and wrap it up against Liberty at 9 a.m. MT Sunday (Nov. 6).
“We have been looking forward to this tournament,” UTEP head coach Ivan Fernandez said. “It will simulate the dual-match feel of the spring. We will get to see each player play in their respective position in the lineup. It’s a great way to finish the fall. We have worked hard the last few months and are really looking forward how we compete against some very good teams.”
UTEP is coming off an encouraging showing at the Islander Open (hosted by Texas A&M Corpus-Christi). The Miners were especially locked in on the final day of the event, combining for six wins in singles and doubles play.
