UTEP Track and Field Closes Out First Day of Action
Torrance, Ca.-The UTEP track and Field team closed out the first day of action at MT. SAC Relays on Thursday night.
Rodgers Korir took the track in the 10,000m for the first time. The freshman won with a collegiate-best time of 30:10.60. Korir’s time currently ranks fourth in Conference USA.
Teammate Antony Kosgei also ran in the 10,000m and finished eighth overall with a time of 31:06.64.
Junior Karol Koncos finished fifth in the men’s hammer throw in a field of 22 throwers. In his fourth attempt of the night, the thrower posted his best attempt of 62.67m.
Bryan Clay Invitational
Boaz Ronoh took 12th place in the men’s 5,000m in heat five with a collegiate-best time of 14:38.58.
Tomorrow will be a full day of action for the Miner at the Bryan Clay Invitational. The men’s 4x100m relay will kick off the meet at 10 a.m. MT
