UTEP Volleyball Drops Match at FAU
BOCA RATON, Fl. – The UTEP volleyball team (9-11, 2-5) fell to Florida Atlantic (10-7, 4-2) in three sets (25-27, 14-25, 11-25), 3-0, on Sunday afternoon at FAU Arena.
Kristen Fritsche posted a team-high 10 assists, and Serena Patterson locked in seven digs. Anamarija Mikovic led the way with five kills and two service aces.
The Miners and Owls engaged in an epic first set, where there were eight ties. The two squads were all knotted up at 22-22, when FAU took the next two points, 24-22. UTEP stormed back, scoring three in a row and were one away from taking the set. However, the Owls would answer and earn the frame 27-25.
FAU rode this momentum into the second set, winning the frame 25-14 and taking a two-set advantage in the match.
The Orange and Blue would be unable to get much going in the third set, as they fell 25-11 and dropped the match.
Next up, he Miners will take on Marshall at home on Friday, October 25 at 6 p.m. MT.
