UTEP Volleyball earns AVCA Team Academic Award

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The UTEP volleyball team earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award for the third consecutive year, as announced by the organization earlier this week.

The award honors teams which maintained at least a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average on a 4.0 scale.

The 2018-2019 season produced an all-time high of 1,126 teams to win the coveted award.

Academically, the Miners were led by four Conference USA Commissioner’s Academic Medalists (Briana Arellano, Macey Austin, Kristin Fritsche and Cheyenne Jones), and 14 C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll recipients.
