UTEP Women’s Golf Caps Wyoming Cowgirl Classic in 16th Place
MARICOPA, ARIZ. — The UTEP women’s golf team wrapped up the Wyoming Cowgirl Classic in Maricopa, Ariz. with a 16th-place showing on Tuesday.
The Miners fired rounds of 315, 300 and 315 for a total of 930. UTEP will now turn its attention to the Conference USA Championships April 18-20 in Fort Myers, Fla.
UTEP’s top finishers on Tuesday were Sofia Castiello (75-77-80) and Lily Downs (83-73-76), who both carded a 16-over-par 232 to tie for 52nd place.
June Ting (78-78-77-233) and Alisa Rodriguez (79-72-82-233) tied for 62nd place for the Miners, and Patricia Rico-Avello tied for 106th place (88-81-84-253).
Idaho was champion of the 19-team tournament (291-291-291-873), and Santa Clara’s Annie Freman was the individual champ with a nine-under-par 207 (70-70-67).
