UTEP Women’s Golf Team Chasing Little Rock Title

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, AR. – The UTEP women’s golf team stands four strokes behind front-running Central Arkansas with 18 holes remaining at the Little Rock Classic on Monday in Hot Springs Village, Ar.

The Miners are in third place (303-302-605).

Central Arkansas has shot 601 (302-299) to date, with Jacksonville State in second place (301-301-602) in the 15-team field.

The final round will be played on Tuesday.

UTEP freshman Valeria Mendizabal continued her solid play on Monday.  She carded a 75 and sits in a sixth-place tie with a five-over-par 149 (74-75).  Lily Downs is the second Miner in the top-20 of the individual standings; she is tied for 12th place with 150 (75-75).

The Miners’ Shannon O’Dwyer (77-76-153) and June Ting (77-76-153) are tied for 24th place, and Abbie Anghelescu is tied for 37th place (78-77-155).  Central Arkansas’ Emma Svensson (73-73-146) and Louisiana Monroe’s Shani White (71-75-146) are tied atop the leaderboard.
