FORT MYERS, FLA. — The UTEP women’s golf team rose one spot in the team standings on day two of the Conference USA Championship on Tuesday in Fort Myers, Fla.
The Miners shaved 11 strokes off their first day total and enter Wednesday’s final round in 10th place with a score of 637 (324-313).
Middle Tennessee maintained its first-place standing on Tuesday (296-296-592), with Old Dominion second (300-293-593), Southern Miss third (300-303-603), Western Kentucky (305-304-609) and UTSA (306-303-609) tied for fourth, FIU sixth (299-313-612), Marshall seventh (309-306-615), UAB eighth (312-319-631), Florida Atlantic ninth (307-325-632) and North Texas 11th (312-326-638).
The tournament has a new individual leader, as Old Dominion’s Sana Tufail is currently atop the standings with a one-under-par 143 (74-69).
The Miners’ Alisa Rodriguez (83-76-159) and June Ting (77-82-159) are tied for 37th place, Lily Downs is tied for 40th place (81-80-161), Sofia Castiello is in 43rd place (83-79-162) and Amber Herrera is tied for 47th place (86-78-164).
