UTEP Women’s Golf Remains in Sixth at C-USA Championship

FORT MYERS, Fl. – The UTEP women’s golf team maintained its hold on sixth place following day two of the Conference USA Championships at the Verandah Club on Tuesday afternoon.

With a 10-over par 592 (294-298), the Miners are 12 strokes behind first-place Old Dominion (282-290—572). The final 18 holes will be contested on Wednesday.

UTEP’s Valeria Mendizabal is in the chase for the individual title. Her 1-under par 143 (73-70) leaves her seven strokes back of first-place Ana Gonzalez from UTSA (39-37—136). The sophomore is tied for eighth place.

Lily Downs is tied for 18th place shooting 3-over par 147 (73-74). Audrey Haddad is tied for 31st overall (75-75—150), Crystal Wu is tied for 42nd (73-79—152) and Taylor Stone (85-79—164).
