KANE’OHE, O’AHU – The UTEP women’s golf team wrapped up play at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitationalon Wednesday in Hawaii. The Miners enjoyed their best round of the tournament and moved up two spots from 15th place to 13th.
UTEP finished with a 54-hole tally of 942 (311-325-306).
Oklahoma State (287-282-291-860) and Texas A&M (281-295-284-860) tied for the title at the 16-team event, with the Aggies posting the low round of the day.
The individual champion was Texas A&M’s Thanya Pattamakijsak who carded an eight-under-par 208 (70-71-67).
UTEP’s Sofia Castiello tied for 47th place (76-78-77-231), June Ting tied for 52nd place (79-79-74-232), Alisa Rodriguez tied for 62nd place (76-85-75-236), Lily Downs tied for 82nd place (80-83-82-245) and Mirabela Woods tied for 91st place (84-90-80-254).
The Miners will be back in action at the UALR Invitational March 28-29 in Maumelle, Ark.
