UTEP Women’s Golf Team in Sixth at First Tourney of Spring

NEW BRAUNFELS, TEXAS — The UTEP women’s golf was in sixth place after one round of the Texas State Invitational on Monday in New Braunfels, Texas.

Round two was suspended due to darkness at 5:29 p.m. Mountain time and will be completed on Tuesday, along with the final round.

The Miners shot a 19-over-par 303 in the opening round in their first tournament of the spring.

UTEP’s Lily Downs was tied for 13th place with a three-over-par 74.  June Ting and Alisa Rodriguez were tied for 20th place (75), Sofia Castiello was tied for 48th place (79) and Abbie Anghelescu was tied for 77th place (84).

Georgia Southern and Central Arkansas were tied for first place (295) in a field of 16 teams.
