UTEP’s Ambrosius Named C-USA Co-Golfer of the Week

UTEP junior Oskar Ambrosius has been named the Conference USA Co-Golfer of the Week after bringing home the individual title at this week’s CSU Ram Masters Invitational in Fort Collins.

A trio of under-par rounds kept Ambrosius in the driver’s seat and ultimately led to an individual title at the Colorado State Ram Masters Invitational.

The junior fired a nine-under 201 (65-68-68) and paced the Miners through Monday’s pair of rounds.

His seven-under 133 clip that day tied for the second-lowest 36-hole total in tournament history and his five-under 65 through the first 18 became a career-best.

Entering the final round one shot ahead of the pack, Ambrosius rattled off five-straight birdies on the back nine to finish six shots in front of the runner-up. He would go on to lead the field of 96 with 18 birdies on the week.

UTEP tallied an 848 to earn fourth place out of 17 teams.

UTEP returns to action on Friday, Sept. 27 when the Miners travel to compete in the two-day Williams H. Tucker Intercollegiate at UNM Championship Golf Course in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
