UTEP’s Boit Earns C-USA Athlete of the Week

IRVING, Texas– Senior standout Cosmas Boit seized the Conference USA Male Cross Country Athlete of the Week honor after an impressive performance at the Lobo Invitational last weekend in Albuquerque, N.M., as announced by the league office Tuesday.

Boit’s efforts earned both individual and team first-place finishes for the Orange and Blue. The Kenya native led the Miners last weekend in the 5K event with a 15:12.2 finishing time. This is his first weekly honor of the season, and second honor overall.

“Boit being named C-USA Athlete of the Week is a good way to start our season. Our men squad is proud of his performance,” said head coach Paul Ereng.

The Miners will continue the action as they host their only home meet of the season this weekend at the Lori Fitzgerald Classic.
