UTEP’s Dreier in 63rd Place After Day One of NCAA Regionals

Albuquerque, N.M. – Junior Frederik Dreier had rough go of it Monday morning during his first 18 holes at the Albuquerque NCAA Regional. Dreier shot a seven-over par 79 to sit tied for 63rd.

Dreier started the day off with an eagle on the par 5, 544-yard hole. He then proceeded to shoot six-over par on the final eight holes of the front nine. On the back nine, Dreier rolled in a birdie on his way to shooting a three-over par 39.

John  Rahm (Arizona State) and Rigel Fernandes (South Florida) lead the 75 player field at three-under par (69).

Dreier will tee it up tomorrow for round two in Albuquerque.
