UTEP’s Victor Kibiego and Titus Cheruiyot turned in personal bests at the Dave Murray Invitational hosted by the University of Arizona at Randolph Golf Course in Tucson on Friday morning.

Kibiego placed second with a 23:15.5 in the 8k, while Cheruiyot clocked in a 23:35.5 for a third-place showing. The men’s team placed third overall with 62 points.
On the women’s side, Ruth Jerubet was the top Miner, placing 15th with a 21:43.0 in the 6k. The women placed seventh overall (167 points).
Rounding out the finishers for the men were Kenneth Talavera at 17th place (25:09.7) and Alejandro Tarin placing 21st with a personal-best 25:32.0.
Kibiego led at the 7k mark, but Northern Arizona’s Brodey Hasty edged him out with a time of 23:14.3 to win the men’s event. NAU also took the men’s team title (40 points) and women’s championship (20 points). The Lumberjacks’ Maisie Grice (20:32.5) and Keira Moore (20:41.3) were the top two finishers on the women’s side.
