UTEP’s Rincon Notches Personal Best on Day One of Sun Angel Classic

Tempe, Ariz- Kevin Rincon was the only Miner to set a personal best on Friday at the Sun Angel Classic. Rincon launched the hammer 49.98m (164-00) on his third attempt to stretch his new career best by 1.21m. Rincon would go on to finish in 11th place.

Daniel Cheruiyot took gold in the 3,000m steeplechase with a time of 9:23.17 at the Mesa Classic.

Both Evans Kiprono and Kayla Pallares also ran at the Mesa Classic. Pallares clocked a 5,000m run time of 18:31.23 to take bronze and Kiprono registered a 5,000m run of 15:02.63 to place fifth.
