UTEP’s Winn Makes Conference USA All-Freshman Team

UTEP forward Terry Winn was one of five players appointed to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team on Tuesday, based on a vote by league head coaches.

He was joined by Charlotte guards Jon Davis and Andrien White, Old Dominion forward Zoran Talley and Rice guard Marcus Evans.  Evans was named the Conference USA Freshman of the Year.

A Monroe, La. native, Winn is averaging 9.8 points, 6.2 rebounds and 0.8 blocks in 2015-16.  He is shooting 51.6 percent from the field.  Winn is shooting 56.5 percent from the floor versus league opponents and is 22-for-29 from the field (.759) over the last five contests.  He has scored in double figures 16 times (including in seven of the last 10 games) and has accumulated seven or more rebounds in 14 outings.

The no. 6 seed Miners (18-13) will meet no. 11 seed FIU (13-18) in the second round of the C-USA Championships on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. MT in Birmingham, Ala.
