5 Valle Verde ECHS Students Named National QuestBridge Finalists

Congratulations are in order as five Valle Verde Early College High School Spartans were named national QuestBridge Finalists.

Spartans Cynthia Bautista, Daniel Burris, Katelyn Johnson, Daniel Lara, and German Martinez were named a 2017 QuestBridge Finalists earlier this week.

This year, out of 15,606 applications, 5,759 students were selected as National College Match Finalists.

QuestBridge is a non-profit organization which connects the nation’s brightest students from low-income backgrounds with leading institutions of higher education.

Questbridge seeks academically stellar students who have demonstrated a level of academic achievement that meets admissions standards of highly competitive colleges.   These students are those in the top 5-10% of their class, have mostly A’s in the most rigorous classes available, and have strong standardized test scores.

Recently, Valle Verde ECHS was recognized as an Apple Distinguished School by Apple, a Demonstration Early High School by Texas Education Agency, one of America’s Best High Schools by US News and World Report and one of America’s Best High Schools serving low-income students by Newsweek Magazine for the third consecutive year.
