Video: Brave Books’ Frontera Rising Youth Writing Invitational recorded remembrances
Local book store Brave Books, along with the Young Women’s STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy, partnered in a unique, touching way to remember, honor and heal after the August 3rd shooting.
The Frontera Rising Youth Writing Invitational, presented by Brave Books, featured local students who were encouraged to reflect on the tragedy of the El Paso Walmart mass shooting by engaging themselves in writing, reading and sharing as a means to heal and strengthen.
Rebecca N. Guerrero, an English Language Arts educator at the Young Women’s STEAM Research & Preparatory Academy partnered with Brave Books and assigned her class the project, knowing the value of self-reflection through the process of writing and sharing.
Brave Books officials add, “These young women have courageously dug deep into their hearts in the wake of this tragedy and their recorded remembrances of August 3, 2019 are sure to move you.”
