Video: Cornyn Stresses Importance of U.S.-Mexico Trade Relationship

WASHINGTON – Monday on the floor, U.S. Senator John Cornyn (R-TX) discussed the importance of preserving the United States’ trade relationship with Mexico while working to secure our southern border.

Excerpts of Sen. Cornyn’s floor remarks are below

“It is a fact of life that businesses and jobs in our communities in Texas and, literally, around the country rely on a strong trading relationship between the U.S. and Mexico, something I’ve always supported and will continue to advocate for.”

“I appreciate President Trump’s unwavering commitment to securing our southern border and enforcing our immigration laws, and I’ll continue to support his efforts to stop the flow of illegal immigration, to improve physical security, to close dangerous loopholes in the law, and provide our frontline officers and agents the tools and resources they need to carry out their sworn mission.”

“But it’s important to remember that any actions that we take to secure our southern border must also keep in mind the important role that Mexico plays in the economy of the United States. My state enjoys a strong relationship economically with Mexico because of that 1,200-mile common border.”

  1. The Democruds control the House and refuse to pass any legislation to secure our borders. The reason is, they want to flood the country with illegal aliens and then provide a path to citizenship for them, thus creating a flood of Democrud voters.

  2. Dear Mr.Cornyn,
Do you represent the majority of your constituents or kiss ass the U.S. Chamber of Commerce ass???

  3. Frankly, if it takes me paying more for products from Mexico, I am ok with it in order to slap some sense into the Mexican government.

  4. BUTT BLAST GOP'S!

Frankly! John Cornyn is kissing Donald Trump’s fat orange ass, as he knows that the 2020 elections are not that far away.
