Video+Info: Work Begins on I-10 Connector; Other Projects Continue

Plenty of projects around town, including the new I-10 Connector project at the Spaghetti Bowl.  Below are links to information on each closure and details about each project.

  • I-10 Connect project is underway! For the next month, crews will be installing concrete barrier to ready work areas. This will result in many overnight closures. The first start on SUNDAY!   • 27-hour closure on Mesa for our GO10 project is this weekend. Plan accordingly if you plan to be in that area between Sunday 3a.m. and Monday 6a.m., then be careful Monday morning as eastbound traffic on Mesa will experience a traffic shift between Osborne and Remcon.

GO10

North Mesa

27-hour Closure
Sunday, March 3 at 3 a.m., to Monday, March 4 at 6 a.m.

  • All exit ramps and entrance ramps at the I-10/North Mesa interchange will close.
  • South Desert Boulevard will close at McClintock Street.
  • North Mesa Street (SH 20) will close in both directions between Osborne Drive and Remcon Circle.
  • Milestone: Once this 27-hour closure lifts, lanes on North Mesa Street (SH 20) between Osborne and Remcon will be in their final configuration, and driveways to nearby businesses will be restored.
  • Note: If this work activity is canceled, then it will be rescheduled for March 10-11.

 

I-10 Westbound

Monday, March 4, and Tuesday, March 5
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day

  • The right lane on I-10 westbound will be closed for approximately 1,300 feet starting at approximately mile marker 15 (the Top Golf area).
  • Note: This lane closure will reduce I-10 westbound from three lanes to two lanes.
  • Crews will be in the area working on the traffic camera system.

 

Mesa Park Interchange project

Tuesday, March 5 through Thursday, March 7
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (throughout the day)

  • Westbound exit ramp at Executive will be closed
  • Crews will be working to reconstruct proposed ramp

 

Wednesday, March 6 through Friday, March 8
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (throughout the day)

  • Eastbound entrance ramp at Executive will be closed
  • Crews will be working to reconstruct proposed ramp

 

Spalling Repair project

Saturday, March 2 through Sunday, March 3
6 a.m. to 6 a.m. (48 hours)

  • Two right lanes at Gateway west at Airway will be closed
  • The right turn lane from Gateway west to Airway northbound will also be closed
  • Crews will be repairing spalled concrete pavement in the area

 

Hawkins/Viscount Operation Improvements project

Monday, March 4 through Saturday, March 9
9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (throughout the day)

  • Right lane closure on Gateway east between Robert E. Lee to Hawkins
  • Crews will be working on electrical work in the area

 

Border West Expressway

Loop 375

Monday, March 4, to Friday, March 8
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Alternative westbound and eastbound lane closures from Park Street to San Marcial Street
  • Closure is needed for roadway work

 

Friday, March 8, to Monday, March 11
9 p.m. to 5 a.m. (continuous full closure)

  • Westbound and eastbound from Oregon Street to US 54
  • Closure is needed for roadway work

 

I-10 Connect

Sunday, March 3, to Monday, March 4
9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Ramp N, which connects eastbound Loop 375 to northbound US 54, will be closed to all traffic.
  • Lane restrictions will be in place on northbound US 54 at US 62 (Paisano Drive).
  • Crews will be installing traffic barriers.

Monday, March 4, to Tuesday, March 5
9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Ramp N, which connects eastbound Loop 375 to northbound US 54, will be closed to all traffic.
  • Ramp O, which connects westbound Loop 375 to northbound US 54, will be closed to all traffic.
  • Crews will be installing traffic barriers.

Tuesday, March 5, to Wednesday, March 6
9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Ramp R, which connects westbound Loop 375 to Gateway North Boulevard, will be closed to all traffic.
  • Ramp T, which connects Gateway North Boulevard to US 54, will be closed to all traffic.
  • Lane restrictions will be in place on Gateway North Boulevard.
  • Crews will be installing traffic barriers.

Wednesday, March 6, to Thursday, March 7
9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • The ramp that connects Gateway North Boulevard to eastbound I-110 will be closed to all traffic.
  • Crews will be installing traffic barriers.

Thursday, March 7, to Friday, March 8
9 p.m. to 5 a.m.

  • Ramp T, which connects Gateway North Boulevard to northbound US 54, will be closed to all traffic.
  • Lane restrictions will be in place on northbound US 54 at US 62 (Paisano Drive).
  • Crews will be installing traffic barriers.

 

Loop 375 South Frontage Road Project

Monday, March 4
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

  • Loop 375 southbound Zaragoza Road exit ramp closed
  • Crews will be installing portable traffic control barrier and temporary striping
