On Thursday morning, officials and invited guests attended the groundbreaking for the all new Giles Volvo Cars facility at 6585 South Desert Road in Northwest El Paso.
This will be the newest addition to Giles Automotive founded by Texan Bob Giles.
Giles, Dealer Principal of Giles Automotive and community advocate, commented, “The new Giles Volvo Cars will be a wonderful extension of the Giles Auto Group and the El Paso community. The Giles family gives back to all the communities we call home, and as someone who called Texas home for many years and started my automotive career here, I feel very fortunate to be able to bring Giles Automotive’s sense of giving back to the El Paso community as well as providing new jobs for many.”
Giles Automotive donates to and participates in a plethora of worthy causes in their current communities, and El Paso will be no different.
Mr. Giles and Giles Automotive announced they will give back throughout the greater El Paso area by sponsoring and helping several local community causes, as well as rolling out their keynote program El Paso Heroes.
Giles added, “We feel El Paso Heroes will be a great way for us to get connected with the community and to start giving back throughout the El Paso area. We strongly support and encourage all endeavors that make the community a better place and this is our way of thanking those that make the extra effort and a difference.”
The selection process for El Paso Heroes begins with local nominees from the community which can be submitted by anyone. The nominees are then narrowed down to finalists whom will be listed on the El Paso Heroes’ website.
Then community members will vote on which finalist they feel deserves the title of El Paso’s Local Hero for the month. The winner will be rewarded and recognized.
Mr. Bob Giles added, “We are so thankful to be joining the El Paso community and for having the opportunity to give back. We pledge to do our part to support worthy causes and strongly believe it is an obligation for all businesses to do so.”
Via a news release, Giles representative added, “From their regular involvement with Dreams Come True, an organization dedicated to making dreams a reality for children with life-threatening illnesses, to their annual food drive, Hunters for the Hungry which collects over 8,000 lbs. of food and feeds more than 25,000 families annually, to providing an entire town’s police force with bullet proof vests, along with a multitude of other charitable endeavors, it is Giles Automotive’ s determination to help make the local community a safer and happier place for all by giving back.”
The new dealership is expected to open this fall, in the meantime a temporary Giles Volvo dealership is set to open in February, near the Outlet Mall of El Paso.
