Virtual Chalk the Block 2020 set for October: MCAD accepting Artist, Vendor applications

The largest public arts festival in the region has adapted with the current COVID-19 climate and is scheduled to launch virtually on Saturday, October 10.

“Chalk the Block has served as an opportunity for local artists to showcase their work as well as bring internationally known installations to the borderland,” said Cultural Affairs and Recreation Director Ben Fyffe.

“Although we are not able host the festival in person, we want to continue bringing the excitement of public art to the community of El Paso.

The El Paso Museums and Cultural Affairs Department (MCAD) has opened the online application period for artists and vendors to participate in the first virtual Chalk the Block 2020 (CTB13).

Chalk artists and vendors interested in participating need to fill out an application online
