Inaugural Walk For Wishes® set for Saturday at the Fountains at Farah

Make-A-Wish North Texas’ El Paso Regional Office will host its first Walk for Wishes, presented by The Hospitals of Providence|The Hospitals of Providence Children’s Hospital, on Saturday, April 9, 2016 at The Fountains at Farah (8889 Gateway West Blvd.) at the Amphitheater.

The one-mile walk will help grant the wishes of children in El Paso facing life-threatening medical conditions, with the goal of raising $50,000.

“Walk for Wishes provides the El Paso community with the opportunity to experience the magic of Make-A- Wish,” Walk for Wishes Committee Chair Elisa Terrazas said. “When you can see first-hand just how much this organization impacts local families, it’s hard to not want to support them.”

Participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite superheroes as a way to celebrate the courage and bravery of our wish kids. Those who sign up will receive a t-shirt and can enjoy music, food and yoga as the warm-up before the walk.

The Popular Mattress Kids’ Zone will include face painting, balloon twisters, princesses, superheroes, and a photo booth.

A wish also will be revealed live to a child at the event.

Online registration is $20, $10 for children (ages 5 to 11) and free for wish kids. Event day registration begins at 7:00 a.m. with Opening Ceremonies beginning at 7:30 a.m. and the Walk at 8 a.m. Registration day of the event will be $25 for adults and $15 for children.
