WestStar Tower welcomes Transtelco to new Downtown location

Monday morning, officials with Hunt Companies, Inc. and WestStar announced that Transtelco, a leading digital infrastructure service provider, will locate at WestStar Tower

“With Transtelco’s core business based on binational connectivity, this new downtown location in El Paso is the perfect site for us as we continue to grow and expand our operations,” said Miguel Fernandez, CEO of Transtelco. “In terms of location, connectivity, eco-friendliness, space and many other amenities, the new location perfectly suits our company needs and will comfortably accommodate our employee base here in the U.S.”

Officials share that Transtelco has purchased the 17th floor of the new 20-story office building in downtown El Paso.  Transtelco presently has office locations across the U.S. and Mexico, with main campuses based in El Paso and Juarez.

“This new state-of-the-art building plays a significant role in the ongoing renaissance for downtown El Paso and we are pleased that Transtelco chose to locate at WestStar Tower to continue their longstanding investment in downtown,” said Josh Hunt, Executive Vice President of Hunt.

Transtelco is a leading digital infrastructure service provider connecting companies on both sides of the U.S.-Mexico border and across the Americas, providing managed data and voice services to Fortune 500 companies, telecommunications, and cable companies over a fiber optic network that spans nearly 15,000 route miles between US and Mexico.

Connecting 15 countries across the Americas, approximately 400 employees work for Transtelco.

Other tenants committed to the project include HUB International, Windstar LPG, W. Silver Recycling, Corralito Steakhouse, Sushi Itto, WestStar Bank, and Hunt Companies.

WestStar Tower broke ground in the summer of 2018.  When complete in 2021, WestStar Tower, a multi-tenant, multi-level LEED certified “Green Building”, will be the tallest building in El Paso at over 313 feet high.

The overall project will include approximately 264,000 rentable square feet of true Class-AA space and 12,000 square feet of ground-level office and retail space.  The building will offer approximately 850 parking spaces.
