After 40 years as the area’s largest waterpark, Wet ‘N’ Wild Waterworld broke ground Thursday as they prepare to build its largest attraction yet for the 2020 season.
“This new ride will be the largest family attraction Wet ‘N’ Wild has ever built with more steel, concrete, fiberglass and of course more exhilarating drops and thrills than ever before,” waterpark officials shared during Thursday morning’s groundbreaking.
When the new Wet N Wild Whitewater raft ride is finished, the length of the slide plus all the other slides combined at Wet ‘N’ Wild will be 3,785 linear feet.
“That’s like hiking to the very top of the Franklin Mountains plus an additional 485 ft on top!” park officials added.
Wet ‘N’ Wild will be revealing more details about its massive new ride through contests and posts on their social media pages, with free tickets and other prizes for contest winners.
Since 1979, Wet ‘N’ Wild has grown to over 60 acres with over 30 rides and attractions and has served more than 6.7 million people while providing over 10,000 summer jobs over the years.
Wet ‘N’ Wild opens for summer in May 2020. Season passes are still on sale for last year’s price of $49.99+tax online. For more information on attractions, birthday parties, VIP Suites, reserved parking, and cabana rentals call (915) 886-2222 or visit their website.
