XOLO Gallery to Host X Project’s EQUIS Exhibition

A group exhibition featuring young, local artists will open January 25th, 2019 at XOLO Gallery, a new space showcasing contemporary art at 2812 North Piedras.

The exhibition, entitled EQUIS, will be presented by X Projects, a local organization which specializes in cultural event production and programming.

X Projects’ aim is to provide a vehicle in the El Paso/Cd. Juarez region for local talent. They say their ultimate goal is to “create connectivity and community, as well as build a cultural bridge to inspire.”

X Project’s officials share their vision of the region, as complex and innovative.

“El Paso and Cd. Juarez have straddled complex, uncertain and conflicted forces for years, perhaps never more publicly than now.  At the same time, the two cities have formed one community, united in culture, a symbiotic spirit, economy and future. EQUIS, is an expression of our community as one, cohesive identity.”

Showcasing artists from both sides of the border, the exhibition is curated with the intention of creating a space for reflection and appreciation of our uniqueness as a community. The artists’ works bring to life symbols, touchstones of our region and build a bridge to common understanding and passion through emotional connection.

We are proud to showcase and celebrate these talented artists with local roots. We invite you to experience the border through the lens of art and culture.”

Organizers will hold an exhibit opening event on January 25 from 6-10pm at the gallery space to welcome the community.  The exhibition will run from January 25- February 8, 2019
