YISD – High school juniors and seniors from across the El Paso area, including Ysleta ISD; representatives from 18 nationwide art schools, colleges, and universities, including El Paso Community College (EPCC), UTEP, University of North Texas, UT Austin, UT San Antonio, Otis College of Art and Design in Los Angeles, and Carnegie Mellon School of Arts in Pennsylvania, among others.
Ysleta ISD high-school juniors and seniors and their local peers will showcase art portfolios to college recruiters during the fourth annual Sun City Portfolio Day taking place at EPCC. This event is open to local high schoolers in grades 11-12 or any El Paso-area college student seeking to pursue higher education.
This event is a joint effort between EPCC, Ysleta ISD, El Paso ISD, and Socorro ISD to bring art schools from across the nation to guide our students through their college-enrollment journeys. Though there are college fairs/portfolio days offered for art students throughout the year, the distance to travel and cost associated with attending makes them inaccessible to all.
