Ysleta Elementary Teacher Wins ‘Kool Smiles’ Grant
Kool Smiles, a children’s dental health provider, announced the winners of its’ My Kool Smiles Classroom Grant Program contest and a YISD teacher is among those selected.
Ysleta Elementary School teacher Diane Emiliano is among the 5 winners selected nation-wide to receive a grant.
“Teaching is a rewarding profession and being recognized for our efforts in the classroom is very much appreciated. Kool Smiles just made my smile a little brighter!” said Ms. Emiliano.
Ms. Emiliano submitted a video on how she implements healthy eating and oral hygiene in her classroom.
She is one of five selected nationwide to receive a $1,000 grant to be used for classroom supplies or school needs.
The other four winners are educators Minnie Sapp of Panama City, FL.; Lynda Warren of Williams, SC; Rachel Cervantez of Lubbock, TX; and Georgia Duan of New York, NY.
Kool Smiles awards classroom grants to K-5 educators who go above and beyond in promoting dental health education in the classroom.
