Ysleta ISD asking for public’s help to name two new schools

On Tuesday, Ysleta Independent School District officials announced that the district is taking recommendations for the names of two schools under construction in the district.

Students from Desert View and Indian Ridge middle schools will benefit from a newly built campus in the Hanks area. The school will be built behind the current Indian Ridge Middle School.

The community will also have the opportunity to rename Capistrano Elementary School in the Ysleta area.

The campus will serve students from South Loop and Capistrano elementary schools at the current Capistrano campus starting the 2020-2021 school year.

Nominations must be completed on the YISD Nomination Form to Name a New School/Facility (link below).

The form should be submitted along with supplemental material via electronic mail to schoolnaming@yisd.net or by mail to
