Ysleta ISD Public Relations Department receives 9 National Awards

The National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA) has announced that the Ysleta Independent School District’s Department of Public Relations has received nine national awards for excellence in school public relations, the most for any El Paso school district.

“These awards are a testament of the hard work and dedication our Public Relations team contributes each day to enrich the educational experience for our 42,000 students,” said Patricia Ayala, YISD director of public relations. “We work tirelessly to establish an open line of communication with our parents and community in order to fully engage them in the academic process.”

YISD received the Golden Achievement Award for its 2015 Bond Informational Campaign, one of NSPRA’s highest recognitions. In addition, NSPRA has invited Ayala and Chris Lechuga, senior communication specialist, to present at the annual NSPRA Seminar next month in Chicago on the 2015 Bond campaign.

The awards YISD won are:

 Award of Merit for the YISD Centennial Campaign

 Award of Merit for the Career and Technical Education recruiting videos

 Award of Merit for the 2015 YISD Bond Overview Video

 Honorable Mention for the Young Women’s Leadership Academy branding

 Honorable Mention for the 2015 YISD Bond op-ed

 Honorable Mention for the 2015 YISD Bond fact sheet

 Honorable Mention for the Fall 2015 The Communicator newsletter
